Leprosy

"Unclean, Unclean!"the man yells
As I glance by his way
With boils all over and his nappy hair
I pass and turn to say,

"Maybe I can save you and satisfy your needs."
"You must save yourself
Before you save others."
He declares through heaves and weaves.

I look at myself in a distorted mirror
As I walk right on past.
And notice that I have them too.
I know not the faults I have.

No wonder no one is my friend
Nor can I keep the ones once had.
It's up to me to find myself
As cliche as that sounds.
